Old Grandma Hardcore

This blog is the chronicle of my experiences with Grandma, the video-game playing queen of her age-bracket and weight class. She will beat any PS2, XBox, GameCube, etc., console game put in front of her, just like she always has. These are her stories. She is absolutely real. She lives in Cleveland.

    wow, a lot going on.

My husband and I just acquired an Xbox 360 so that's been keeping us busy. We got:

    Call of Duty 2
    DOA 4

I'm really loving the graphics on this console. :)

I'm playing Mafia for PS2 because my Xbox is currently being held hostage by my BF.

I like how it's grand theft auto 3 for the prohibition era, even though the original car you get has really bad handling.

Since the Ohio weather is cold and crappy right now, I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time on the PS2.

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, Fatal Frame III, and Final Fantasy XI.

My brother is currently playing ICO, Final Fantasy IV on the GBA, Final Fantasy XI, and, occasionally, Ninja Gaiden Black.

Yeah, we're pretty lazy about beating games in a timely manner. We badly need a DS and XBOX 360.

Right now I am playing Silent Hill 4: The Room for PS2. It took me a while to get around to it, but I am thoroughly enjoying the creepiness. :) I can't wait to see what they do with the Silent Hill movie. If they can make the movie half as creepy as the games, I think it will be great. :)

Animal Crossing:WW, Mario Kart and a bit of World Championship poker all on the DS.

Sick of everything on my XBox.

    EverQuest2 (EverCRACK) on the PC.

Just finished Cell by Stephen King (it's a BOOK) :)

Fatal Frame III for PS2, but only when I'm not by myself

Chilirobo for GC. Very mindless and addictive!

Glad you guys are back, I was starting to get worried!

I'm "working" right now. When I'm at home lately my time has been split between 'Chibi Robo' for the GC, 'Need for Speed: Most Wanted' on the XBox, 'Klonoa 2' for the PS2 and my latest obsession, 'Gun' on the XBox (a gift from my girlfriend). Speaking of 'Guitar Hero' and my girlfriend, we took my kids to Best Buy so they could all show off their skills on the in-store display. She wrote about it here: http://mattedspam.blogspot.com/2006/02/coolest-chick-ever.html

GAMER OF THE YEAR! Woooooo! ::dances::

At the moment I'm working mostly, but also playing World of Warcraft (as always) and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II (and having a stupid fangirl crush on Atton Rand ::laugh::) Oh, and assorted funness on my GBA, when I get the chance.

Must run - many hugs to you guys, and congradulations again on the award! WOOOO! ::hug:: Take care, be well, and GAME ON!

Stubbs The Zombie (X-Box) but i'm stuck on a level with a large-ass tank that keeps blowing me up. If you want to help me then feel free to email (dy357lx@gmail.com) don't post here because it might spoil it for others.

World Of Warcraft Level 35 Tauren Shaman on the EU Ragnaros server. /w me if you want to quest.

Tony Hawks American Wasteland - X-Box 360. Keeps crashing / locking up and is pissing me off big time.

Congratulations on the Gamer Of The Year award, Grandma!

Right now I'm playing the following:

Project Zero 2 (Fatal Frame 2) Survival Mode. (Am waiting eagerly for the Australian release of number 3!)
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee (managed to get my hands on a preplayed copy and I'm really pleased I did!)

Clock Tower 3 (this is pretty good so far...)
Orphen: Scion of Sorcery (an RPG game based off an anime - Grandma would probably hate it.)

Can Grandma give me any hints about beating Ansem at the end of Kingdom Hearts without him kicking my arse? It's driving me crazy...

OK... I'm annoyed at SOE, again, and am so very tempted, AGAIN, by WoW. All you WoW players out there, what makes it so damn good for you that it's your MMORPG of choice? If you don't want to post here, feel free to email me at: ruthillia@yahoo.com

Hugz n Drugz: Don't feel alone, I'm slow many times to finally play a game. I JUST ordered Half Life2, should arrive tomorrow. I played the first one when it came out and didn't pick up 2 due to all the noise about the registration when it first came out. But I really want to play it so finally got it. I have Halo2 for the xbox and I've hardly played it..dunno why really. I have and love the first one.

Gun.. is it really any good? I've read mixed reviews. I'm interested in the PC version mostly. If anyone feels like letting me know how they're liking it/not liking it, email me at above address or post here. Thanks!

All Mario Kart DS users... any of you playing on the WiFi?? I haven't tried it but once and it was a disaster as I'm not that good at it yet.

Heheh, I'm still trying to beat Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, not because it's hard but because I have no time for anything this semester. Oh, and I'm almost done with Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

  • At 6:02 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I'm playing City of Villians... :)

  • At 11:40 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Fatal Frame III, whenever my friends and I decide to have a go at it...

Also Final Fantasy IV for GBA, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, and Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete.

And... Yes, I'm on Warcraft as well. But only because my friends dragged me into it! Kicking and screaming!

  • At 9:40 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said…
