Old Grandma Hardcore

This blog is the chronicle of my experiences with Grandma, the video-game playing queen of her age-bracket and weight class. She will beat any PS2, XBox, GameCube, etc., console game put in front of her, just like she always has. These are her stories. She is absolutely real. She lives in Cleveland.

Insomniac Games - Full Moon Show podcast now live

Sweet! The 5th episode of Full Moon Show podcast is now live and Grandma is their Mystery Guest this week. It's worth the listen if for no other reason than more news on the upcoming Ratchet and Clank game.

Grandma talks about her gaming history, Resistance Fall of Man, violence in video games, among other things, so... if you have any questions that you WISH they asked, go ahead and use this comment thread to ask her. She'll be here to answer.

We mentioned it in the last post, but once again- THANK you, O people of Insomniac Games for the Child's Play donation. We cannot thank you enough for that. That was DAMN cool.

These guys love feedback, so let us know whatcha think.

Game on!

They have a nice show! I'm glad they treated Grandma well. I'd ask you what she thought of Super Paper Mario, but I already know now.

Crowz - Where do I think gaming will be in 10 years? I don't know. I'll be dead by then! (Not really, I hope.) Anyway, I'd say they would move to a more virtual, fully interactive gaming world, but that's what everyone thought ten years ago and look where we are now. I think they're going to keep getting better at making faster systems but instead of just making the graphics better they're going to make the games more complex, I guess. You could have a game like Worms on XBLA, but instead of 20 weapons, you might have 200. Hard drives will be bigger and cheaper so games can be longer, but that depends on who you talk to. Some people think they're too long already. I don't.

littlething - I really don't know. I love my 360 and I love my PS3. The 360 has more games right now, so as long as the PS3 puts out some good titles in the future it's going to get better. Right now I want to download Jumping Flash onto the PS3. (I wish it was Jumping Flash 2, though. That was the best.) Moomoos!!

ivan - I can't fucking wait for the new one. I hate waiting. This fall isn't that far away, but then I think about the other games coming out as well and I just hope I can save enough money by then.

Yeah! Insomniac are awesome for giving a donation to charity. They were already awesome but now I think they're even more so. And I love their interview with Grandma - cheerful and lots of fun to listen to.

I'm really looking forward to the new Ratchet and Clank - the PSP game "Size Matters" will be coming out next week and I can't wait.

    Game on!

Hey grandma--great stuff on the Full Moon Show!

My question is, the PS3 is soon going to be launching the 'Home' online social network--will you be taking part in Home? Do you get into the social aspects of gaming, or are you more a solo gamer? Honestly, as a gamer, I'd be stoked to game with you on Home.
