Old Grandma Hardcore

This blog is the chronicle of my experiences with Grandma, the video-game playing queen of her age-bracket and weight class. She will beat any PS2, XBox, GameCube, etc., console game put in front of her, just like she always has. These are her stories. She is absolutely real. She lives in Cleveland.

Ask Grandma Hardcore

A lot of new games are out and Grandma has opinions- but it's your opinions we want to hear, so speak! What are you playing? Why? What do you think?

"Indigo Prophecy" or "Vaguely Purple Prediction?"

Inquiring Grandmas want to know!

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is taking my time.

Though Fable and the new Spider-man have peaked my fancy, but alas I think I will wait for the new elder scrolls game before buying anything else.

I've been playing We Love Katamari and a bit of Burnout: Revenge. I plan on finishing The Suffering soon so I can move onto The Suffering: Ties That Bind. And soon, Day of Defeat: Source.

In other news, I have a little present for you folks.

Playing Mk Deception on Game Cube. the graphics and game play are fantastic. It's got that old comforting Mortal Kombat feel to it. But forget playing it on the Game Cube! The game cubs controls are the only thing keeping me from fully enoying this game.

Now what your take on Mk Deception Grandma?

Ah, the delightful We Love Katamari is taking up my time currently, as well as World of Warcraft (as always). I've been planning to finish up Sly 2 before I grab the third iteration, and come to think of it - I've still got a copy of Final Fantasy VI that needs finishing! Oh man... ::shakes head:: And of course there is the usual DDR Max or DDR Max 2 (the selection of songs is WAY better on the former) for my exercise - I may not be all that great at DDR, but 30-45 minutes on a dancepad at a good clip will work ANYbody into a nice sweat. ::grin::

Oh! Almost forgot! Is Grandma keeping an eye out for Shadow of the Colossus as well? It's due for a release on 10/18 - I've just got my fingers crossed that it's got a better framerate that it did at E3, but man - MUST buy it. The power of the minds behind Ico compel me!

Take care, be well, and GAME ON!

    -A!

I've been playing Burnout Revenge and Sid Meier's Pirates. I may try and start up either Ico or Eternal Darkness again. Both are great games that Grandma should take a look at if she hasn't played them already.

Whoops! I was Captain Awkward Phrasing while posting that (no more posting at 1:04 in the MORNING, foolish brain!), and I know that with the knee injury - plus common sense - Grandma would NEVER do the DDR. That is just my personal drug of choice to get myself some exercise (because going to the gym is annoying and boring, bleargh), and what I've been up to lately.

But seriously, We Love Katamari. That two-player mode is gonna make my husband and I bellow like idiots trying to move that katamari around, but it will be AWESOME (and not just because I say so). Hee!

Also, I'm wondering about Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. I've never liked the series, but I find myself oddly drawn to this one. I've heard good things so far, but I must see what you guys think. ::grin::

    Be good, and GAME ON!

    -A!
